Oklahoma County Jail Roster

The Oklahoma County Inmate Registry is a public resource that allows anyone to check who is currently in custody at the county jail. OklahomaCourt.us provides access to public information about current and recently released inmates. Additional information can be obtained through the official Jail Tracker & Scheduler system on the county's website, by phone, or by visiting the jail in person. The registry is maintained by the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, it is updated regularly throughout the day and posted on the official county website. The search allows you to find out the detention status, charges, and basic booking information.

Search Current Inmates in Oklahoma Jail

There are several ways to find an inmate who is in custody at the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

Online Search

  1. Go to the Jail Tracker & Scheduler page on the official Oklahoma County website.
  2. Enter the person's full legal name or booking number, if known.
  3. The system will display a list of matches with basic data: name, date of birth, charges, and detention status.

If you are looking for court information or related case materials, use OklahomaCourt.us.

By Phone

Call the jail directly. The operator can confirm if a specific person is in custody if you provide the full name and date of birth. Juvenile offenders are not included in the public registry and information about them is not provided over the phone.

In-Person Visit

You can contact the information window in the jail lobby.

To check active warrants, the Sheriff's Office provides a separate warrant search tool.

Find Oklahoma Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created at the time a detained person undergoes the registration process at the jail. It is a standard document and contains a specific set of data:

  • Unique booking number
  • Date and time of admission
  • Charges
  • Arresting agency (police, sheriff, marshal, etc.)
  • Photograph (mugshot)
  • Basic demographic data — gender, age, race

Most of this information is available through Jail Tracker for individuals who are currently in custody. After release, the record usually disappears from the active registry.

If you need an archival booking record — for example, for an attorney or to confirm an arrest — submit a written request for public records to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office. According to the Oklahoma Open Records Act (51 O.S. § 24A.1 et seq.), most law enforcement records are public, although some materials of ongoing investigations may be restricted.

For individuals transferred to the state system, use the Offender Lookup of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. This database covers inmates serving sentences in state facilities, not in the county jail.

Search the Oklahoma Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The registry supports two main search methods.

By Last Name

Enter the last name in Latin script. You can add the first name to narrow down the results. A few tips:

  • Check the spelling — even one incorrect letter will yield zero results.
  • If the last name is common (Smith, Johnson, Garcia), be sure to include the first name.
  • Try spelling variations if the name can be transliterated differently.

By Booking Number

The booking number is the most accurate identifier. It is usually provided to relatives during the inmate's first call or when contacting the jail by phone.

What to Do if the Search Yields No Results

  1. Ensure you are using the legal name, not a nickname or abbreviation.
  2. The person may not have been registered yet — there can be a delay of several hours between arrest and appearance in the system.
  3. The person may have already been released on bail or transferred to another facility.
  4. Call the jail at (405) 713-1000 to confirm the status.

If the person is under federal proceedings, their case should be searched through the Western District of Oklahoma District Court.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Oklahoma

The Oklahoma County registry is updated throughout the day, but not in real-time in the literal sense. There is a certain time lapse between the physical admission of a detainee and their appearance in the online database — sometimes several hours, especially during night shifts or weekends when staff workload increases.

Main limitations to consider:

  • Registration delay. New inmates may not appear in the system for 2–8 hours after arrest.
  • Disappearance after release. Records are removed from the active registry shortly after release or transfer. This is not an archive.
  • Data entry errors. Sometimes there are typographical errors in names or dates — this can complicate the search.
  • Minors. Information about persons under 18 is never published in the open registry.

The registry only reflects those who are in custody right now. To check criminal history, contact the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), which is the official repository of fingerprints and criminal records in the state. A criminal check request through OSBI is a paid service and requires filling out a separate form.

To track cases in the county court, use the resources of the Court Clerk — this office handles the largest volume of court cases in the state and provides access to public case materials.
